I would like to request a new category in the systemcrafters forum: AI.
I am impressed by the pair programming tools that enable us to have a force multiplier when it comes to working on our personal projects. I think emacs has quite a few packages for that, to name a few: gptel, agent-shell, etc.
However, these tools are quite “deep”, I have been using gptel for months and I still don’t know how I would use it for pair programming. I am looking into agent-shell for that. However, it is another whole new category of programs that I need to familiarize myself with. And, none of these tools have an active community of users passing notes between each other showcasing their workflows, keeping up with the new techs and their terms (like, MCP, ACP, etc).
Thus I would like to have a category in this forum so that we can discuss pair programming and system crafting.
do you actually want a category, or would a tag be good enough in
I think a category would be better. And then, inside the AI category, we can have tags like “emacs” for emacs users and AI coding tools, or claude-code for the claude-code and tmux users or tags like gptel, agent-shell. I think this would better organize the discussion in the forum and help the newcomers to find what they are looking for.
