Meow mode is better than evil mode for multi-cursor editing

meow mode has beacon mode for creating multiple cursors. Multiple cursors are called beacons. If there are beacons, any macro you execute will be applied to all beacons. This is multi-cursor editing.

Beacon mode just lets you create multiple beacons.

meow mode tries to not interfere with emacs keys, so you can use emacs keys. meow mode has keypad mode which makes it easy to press prefix keys such as Ctrl-c and Ctrl-x.

A few problems with meow mode

  • key bindings are not defined, so you have to copy key bindings from meow mode documentation
  • beacon mode is not documented well at this moment, but this documentation issue will be fixed in the near future.

I need to make another pass at meow. Every time I’ve tried it I cannot get it to work. Not like I cannot get it to work like I expect but I cannot get it to work at all.

Ok, on the list…

EDIT: I missed the part of Getting Started where you are expected to configure by writing your own (meow-setup).
