Iā€™m looking forward to it too! Iā€™m thinking about a series about Guix Home and putting together a Sway desktop configuration.

Sounds like a great idea. I use guix as my productive system on most of my machines.
The last non-guix box hosts my gitlab. Guix-forge will replace this in the near future.

I am using Guix as a home user for about a year now and I dig into it from time to time but I feel like I still miss some foundational knowledge about the system, how to configure different things and unfortunately, the manual is not that beginner friendlyā€¦

Guix Home is an area that sorely needs more content, but the good news is that Iā€™ve got a head start on that by giving talks on Guix Home at a couple different events.

Yeah guix home isnā€™t always easy to get started with. Iā€™ve had to look at some of the code a couple of times to understand how certain things work. Itā€™s also a relatively new feature of Guix, so Iā€™m sure it still needs a lot of attention in a few areas.

Is there anything specific thatā€™s bugging you? Or is it more a general ā€œI like it, but Iā€™m not sure what Iā€™m getting out of itā€ issue? Iā€™m sure this forum would be a great place to ask for help with specific issues :slight_smile:
