Error while updating my GUIX System installation

After I installed GUIX System 1.4.0 with a Mate Desktop on one of my systems and installed some additional packages I wanted to update the whole system. The Manual pointed me to the following two steps.

  • guix pull
  • sudo guix system reconfigure /etc/config.scm

This starts a lengthy process that ends with an error with a mate-utils package, when I start the system reconfiguration step again it works through to the end. The system seems to work without a problem. Does anyone experience the same and what can I do to resolve the problem?

Might be a timeout or memory problem. Some packages are well known for this. You can always check the log file to see what causes the error
